Courtney, I really cannot describe what this means to me. To both of us. I was climbing into bed and I saw your email and we both bolted out to the computer to watch this. Like kids at Christmas.

I was transported back to that day, to the things the kids said, to the fun we had, and I felt all the feels again. It means even more because I know how much the kids loved this day. How they cherished the time we carved out to be just us, something we do not get to do very often. I am so aware watching this how quickly time is passing, how quickly they are growing and changing. This will be something we treasure and cherish for ever.

As a mum, I so often feel my “to-do” list runs my life. There is a never ending list of chores, jobs, tasks, deadlines, to be met. I don’t always get to achieve my ideal as far as the type of mum I want to be. But this day with you, this gave me the space to be that mum. It has helped me since put the tasks aside and be present for my kids, not perfectly, not always, but sometimes, and I hope, I pray, that those moments are what my kids remember. This video shows them what they described as the best day ever because Nathan and I were present, distraction free, playing with them, loving them. And each other.

I cannot wait for the kids to wake up in the morning and watch this.
